This was our first time back to Europe in five years and returning reminded us how magical Europe is! We visited Istanbul, Santorini, Mykonos, Athens, Berlin and Prague, which were all new for us.
Each city has it’s own unique appeal, but I have to take my hat off to Greece – thank you for being what I dreamed of and more! Sometimes I had to pinch myself to make sure it actually wasn’t a dream, especially you Santorini, boy did you not disappoint! I had always dreamed of seeing Santorini and I can only describe it as a surreal fantasy. Mykonos and Athens also exceeded my expectations. So many people told us we wouldn’t like Athens, but the history and atmosphere left quite the opposite impression.
Prague was so unique, unlike anything I had seen before. I repeatedly exclaimed that we were in some kind of medieval gothic world, which was fascinating and beautiful.
Istanbul was so rich in culture. I fell in love with the markets and the abundance of beautiful handmade glass products amongst many other treasures. You could spend several days at the Grand Baazar as it’s one of the biggest markets in the world. Ginormous, is an understatement so take some comfy walking shoes!
Berlin was uber cool and modern chic, contrasted with a recent dark history. It soon became obvious, that a few days was nowhere near enough to explore this vast city with so much to see, do and EAT! Lol
