T-Shirt dresses and me go together like 90’s R&B and also me. 🙂 Okay serious talk, I do love a good versatile piece and this T-Shirt dress is that and more! I collaborated with i.d.s and planned to wear this on our upcoming travels, but I couldn’t wait to show you guys how amazing this dress is and how many ways you can wear it. I love playing around with pieces and thinking outside the square a little, for example, tying the knot in the dress totally transforms the whole design/look. To be honest, I had only planned to do four looks, but the fifth one just happened with a little bit of tweaking, playing around and adding an item as simple as a cap to give it a fun playful look.
Look 1 – Thigh high boots and a corset belt. Okay, it’s no secret that I’m currently obsessed with corset belts, so adding one on to this dress was a given. Corset belts automatically draw in the waist and give you that hourglass feminine silhouette. I could talk about them forever so I will do a separate blog post on them later on. 🙂 I added thigh high boots to this look and it instantly gave it that sexy feel without looking too ‘pretty woman-esque’ lol. I remember wearing over the knee boots and mini skirts in the 90’s and it was NOT cute! Ha ha.
Look 2 – Leather jacket and ankle booties. You can’t go wrong with a leather jacket thrown on a T-Shirt dress to instantly give it a tougher feel. I teamed the look with my new Wittner booties and it complemented the leather jacket so well. I added a low knot to further roughen up the dress.
Look 3 – Sneakers and denim jacket. I love the ‘sports luxe’ look so teaming the dress with sneakers and a denim jacket around the waist was a no brainer for me. Like the corset belt, tying a jacket or jumper around the waist will also accentuate that area. This is a perfect casual day to day look.
Look 4 – Belt, wide brim hat and heels. Adding a hat to this dress gave it a completely different feel by instantly glamming it up and adding sophistication. The ‘belt’ is actually just an old leather tie I had that worked perfectly as a belt tied into a bow, again to draw the waist in. Rock this look with heels and it’s perfect for a night out on the town.
Look 5 – Tie up feature, cap and heels. As I briefly mentioned above, I didn’t plan this one and I was still happy to play dress ups when I discovered how cute this look was. I loved how the hat gave it that sport luxe feel juxtaposed with the heels for that sass. Perfect combo!
