So let me start by saying, this is not my usual style as some of you regular readers would already know by now. As I’ve often said, it takes the smallest detail of an item for me to fall in love with it. So much so that when I saw the sporty appeal mixed in with the dressy pleated chiffon, I was instantly drawn to this skirt. Specifically with this piece, it was the striped sporty waist band that won me over. When I tried the skirt on, I was wearing this same grey T-shirt and thought, oh, with a knot in the top, these two will actually complement each other quite well and voila! I loved it and the sales assistant was pleasantly suprised and loved how I styled the skirt for something different.
I know I said this is not my usual style, but I must say I felt like such a girly girl with it on. It was cute, flowy and felt super comfortable on. I like how I personalised it into my style by mixing it with a plain T-shirt and slides. I find some people steer away from dressy pieces as they may feel ‘too dressed up,’ but teaming an item like this with a casual top or a crop would keep it somewhere in-between. No doubt this type of skirt would look so cute with heels, a dressy top and a killer bag for a more dressier night out on the town, if that’s more your style. 🙂 The key is to have fun and experiment with different styles, textures and fabrics.
Oh, there will be a full post on Dubai soon, but these pics were taken in Bastakiya ‘Old Dubai’ from our recent trip. Beyond amazing!
